Hello all! We're gonna ROCK this challenge! :D

I figure I'll save this post here, and towards the end, we can put all the suggested HAs in here (if there's more than 5) and we can all vote on which ones we like most!

The prefects (myself and ) have decided that we should have all of our HAs done by Tuesday, March 29th @ 11:59pm (if you're a tiny bit late, that's totally okay), so that we have plenty of time to vote and decide on the HAs that will be submitted!!

Let's get creative! Those who have a good idea to begin with, go ahead and try making an HA and posting it, or post to refine your idea before making it! We can help each other out, suggesting things and such, before we submit anything! We can do this! GO HUFFLEPUFF :D

I notice there are not many animal/person teachers... so maybe we should make one of those?

ooh, this is such a fun challenge!! i had some ideas if you guys wanted to expand/change stuff!!

• a woman who's super into charms/astrology, who dresses Very Gaudy (lots of jewellery, super bright colors, clashing patterns)

• a super sleekly dressed curse-breaker, maybe w/ some scars??

• a very gruff-looking healer/welcome witch

• a knight bus driver?? or someone who works on the hogwarts express?

• a magizoologist who's been camping out in the wilderness, tracking magical creatures. maybe has dirt on their face n a lil magical creature w/ them?

Oooo I like both of those! I think the second one definitely looks like a curse breaker, she looks super tough and exciting!

That's okay! You'll never get better if you don't practice, right? And someone else can try making another creature one if they want to, too! Maybe I will, even. :)

i hope it's okay that i went ahead n gave your idea a try! uwu the first creature i thought of was centaurs, so i kinda ran with that ahh

Alright - I came up with two. lol - I might do more if I see something that sparks my interest.

Pearl River She is a mermaid so obviously she cannot leave the lake but she wanted to give the students some of their knowledge on the underwater.

Odysseus Devlin He was an Auror but got bit by a werewolf. During his first transformation he attacked another wizard who cursed him to only change midway back to human.

She's an herbalist from Asia who specializes in the healing qualities of tea.

Has a character been decided? Because, I just want to add that I love the non-human thing - the centaurs, the mermaid, etc.

Ugh, I wonder what the other houses are doing! We should sneak out and spy... lol.

, I have a question - I like azkaban's idea of someone who is tracking a magical creature and maybe has one with them - but would that be allowed... like adding maybe a dragon to the HA?

Ok, well keeping with this kinda nonhuman theme, here are my two HAs:

An adventurous wizard explorer, Akuchi Imbawa changed his name to Drake Legend after his fateful encounter in a dragon's den. No one really knows if Drake had been greedy or just bored but he stole a dragon's treasure and was cursed for it. Drake was infected with something unknown that continues to consume his body further with each year. Thus far, he has a tail, reptilian eyes, a long snake-like tongue, and patches of scales covering his body. To his disappointment, he has not grown wings or horns or gained fire-breathing as an ability. As an explorer, he has an abundance of knowledge regarding other magically inhabited areas that can be applied to either Care for Magical Creatures or Defense Against the Darks Arts.

Jema Kindrex is a harpy from New Zealand. She was born a harpy and grew up as a harpy ever since. She doesn't know her parents and was raised by a congregation of different species of birds for the first 8 years of her life. Eventually, she met some wandering wizards who were in the area collecting potions ingredients and they took her in and brought her traveling with them to many lands. They stopped at several different wizarding schools along the way as well, where Jema has imparted some of her knowledge. What she can offer as far as lectures go could either fall under some simple Herbology information, from what she has learned from her adoptive parents or some really advanced flying lessons for those who are most comfortable in the sky.

UPDATE: so I got really bored and made two more characters...

Satia [sah-TEE-uh] is a woodnymph who resides in the Forbidden Forest just outside Hogwarts. He has lived their his entire life, roughly 200 or so years now, and feels that the students don't really know much of what resides in the woods just next door - because they are so named "Forbidden" for a reason. Due to the fact that most students cannot go inside the forest, Satia wants to share with them what they are missing out on. Plus, he's always wanted to meet some of the students who attend school here. He sees it as a win-win!

My last character (I SWEAR!) is Jade Roxen from South America, who is obviously a Cyclops. She is fresh out of school, just two years older than the 7th years at Hogwarts, and is something of a survivalist. She has written a couple books on the subject, all self-published, of which she's a popular up-and-comer. In particular, the lecture she would likely give a group of young witches and wizards is basic survival tips: certain charms that could save your life, the one potion you should always have on hand, and how to decipher from the plants that will save you in the wild and the plants that will kill you.

(I'm not the best with HAs but I thought I'd give it a shot :) )

Elizabeth Callan Died in 1782 of consumption in London England. During her lifetime she was very interested in the history of magic, and would be able to guest lecture for that class as well as Ghoul Studies, as she has much firsthand experience with a variety of ghosts and ghouls, being one herself.

Great job so far everyone! I'm really enjoying these. :D
